Dear Diary,
Wait, there’s two Kanades?!
The day started like any other day with the Battlefront, except with Naoi hypnotizing Hinata into obsessing over a clothespin. Yup, he’s officially part of our group of idiots. He’s also a bit attached to me, telling me he might be into me. No thank you.
Yuri then comes in and orders Naoi to use hypnosis to help me regain my lost memories. I find out that my sob story is that I was a slacker/loner who had no purpose in life and really needed a freaking haircut. How am I supposed to work when I can’t see anything with that chunk of hair covering my eye? I often bought manga for his little sister, Hastune. After she died, I suddenly realized I wanted to be a doctor and worked on getting accepted into a university. I got in, but on the way there, I…died. Well, that just sucks.
The next day, we’re sent on a new mission. We have to…go river fishing. Less dangerous than expected. I invite Kanade to fish with us. At first , everybody refused to let her join because she used to be the student council president. I think they’re forgetting we let Naoi, the guy who basically slaughtered us the other day and is the student council president, into our group.
And so, we fish. Kanade happens to catch…OH MY GOD HUGE GIGANTIC FISH. One battle with a huge fish later, we end up with a lot to eat. Somehow, we become a charity service and prepare food for the NPCs. Without any real enemy with Kanade and Naoi on our side (the latter turned to our side after only a few days at most), we’re just a group of teens who don’t like to follow the school rules.
Later, Yuri comes back injured and says “Tenshi” attacked her. Impossible! Kanade had been with us the whole time. I turn to see…two Kanades. What the hell? Clones? Doppelgänger? Twins?
–Yuzuru Otonashi (Hey, I remember my name!)
Thoughts
Eh, my summary isn’t as sarcastic as I wanted it to be. It was a pretty light hearted episode for the most part. Also, I’m going to start calling Otonashi by his first name. Eh, I’m still used to typing Otonashi though.
So apparently, there’s another evil Kanade. What? Are they going Tsubasa on us? That series still confuses me. Anyway, the part where Kanade goes to save them, it seem she doubled, so that could explain it. Still, that clone thing just came out of nowhere. Eh, it’s better than a random new villain. Instead, it’s a random new clone!
On Yuzuru’s past, it was pretty predictable. The moment he said he had a sister, I automatically knew she was going to die. It was nice to see him go from aimless slacker to hardworking student. His past made me think of Clannad though. I expected his past to be more depressing (like that extremely depressing Ushio death), but I’m okay with how it was. It explained why Yuzuru was able to answer all the question easily for the exams. Also, I’m not fond of his hair pre-Hastune’s death. I just wanted to grab scissors and cut it myself. Luckily, he cut his hair before he died.
Naoi easily fits into the Battlefront. But seriously, that whole melodramatic episode was just last week. He’s turned from the creepy Big Bad to…a SSS idiot who seems like Yuzuru? That’s the power of hugging for you. Now that I think about it, for Yuzuru’s harem, it’s Kanade, Yuri, and Naoi. Hinata could be included too if you want.
Also, yay! Kanade and Yuzuru are becoming friends. I just love seeing these two together more and more each episode. It’s really nice to see him so willing to befriend her, especially after his past is revealed. After all, he was a loner too.
