Dear Diary,

Wait, there’s two Kanades?!

The day star­ted like any other day with the Bat­tle­front, except with Naoi hyp­not­iz­ing Hinata into obsess­ing over a clothespin. Yup, he’s offi­cially part of our group of idi­ots. He’s also a bit attached to me, telling me he might be into me. No thank you.

Yuri then comes in and orders Naoi to use hyp­nosis to help me regain my lost memor­ies. I find out that my sob story is that I was a slacker/loner who had no pur­pose in life and really needed a freak­ing hair­cut. How am I sup­posed to work when I can’t see any­thing with that chunk of hair cov­er­ing my eye? I often bought manga for his little sis­ter, Has­tune. After she died, I sud­denly real­ized I wanted to be a doc­tor and worked on get­ting accep­ted into a uni­ver­sity. I got in, but on the way there, I…died. Well, that just sucks.

The next day, we’re sent on a new mis­sion. We have to…go river fish­ing. Less dan­ger­ous than expec­ted. I invite Kanade to fish with us. At first , every­body refused to let her join because she used to be the stu­dent coun­cil pres­id­ent. I think they’re for­get­ting we let Naoi, the guy who basic­ally slaughtered us the other day and is the stu­dent coun­cil pres­id­ent, into our group.

And so, we fish. Kanade hap­pens to catch…OH MY GOD HUGE GIGANTIC FISH. One battle with a huge fish later, we end up with a lot to eat. Some­how, we become a char­ity ser­vice and pre­pare food for the NPCs. Without any real enemy with Kanade and Naoi on our side (the lat­ter turned to our side after only a few days at most), we’re just a group of teens who don’t like to fol­low the school rules.

Later, Yuri comes back injured and says “Ten­shi” attacked her. Impossible! Kanade had been with us the whole time. I turn to see…two Kanades. What the hell? Clones? Dop­pel­gänger? Twins?

Thoughts

Eh, my sum­mary isn’t as sar­castic as I wanted it to be. It was a pretty light hearted epis­ode for the most part. Also, I’m going to start call­ing Otonashi by his first name. Eh, I’m still used to typ­ing Otonashi though.

So appar­ently, there’s another evil Kanade. What? Are they going Tsub­asa on us? That series still con­fuses me. Any­way, the part where Kanade goes to save them, it seem she doubled, so that could explain it. Still, that clone thing just came out of nowhere. Eh, it’s bet­ter than a ran­dom new vil­lain. Instead, it’s a ran­dom new clone!

On Yuzuru’s past, it was pretty pre­dict­able. The moment he said he had a sis­ter, I auto­mat­ic­ally knew she was going to die. It was nice to see him go from aim­less slacker to hard­work­ing stu­dent. His past made me think of Clan­nad though. I expec­ted his past to be more depress­ing (like that extremely depress­ing Ushio death), but I’m okay with how it was. It explained why Yuzuru was able to answer all the ques­tion eas­ily for the exams. Also, I’m not fond of his hair pre-Hastune’s death. I just wanted to grab scis­sors and cut it myself. Luck­ily, he cut his hair before he died.

Naoi eas­ily fits into the Bat­tle­front. But ser­i­ously, that whole melo­dra­matic epis­ode was just last week. He’s turned from the creepy Big Bad to…a SSS idiot who seems like Yuzuru? That’s the power of hug­ging for you. Now that I think about it, for Yuzuru’s harem, it’s Kanade, Yuri, and Naoi. Hinata could be included too if you want.

Also, yay! Kanade and Yuzuru are becom­ing friends. I just love see­ing these two together more and more each epis­ode. It’s really nice to see him so will­ing to befriend her, espe­cially after his past is revealed. After all, he was a loner too.
