Prepare hot tea and tasty cookies, the cold season is approaching!

My method is to wait until the shows actually air and to listen what others will say about them, so I find it a bit weird a tradition to tell what you will pick in the upcoming season judging only by short summaries. But since everybody is doing it we won’t be the odd-ones-out. I guess this could be compared to hanging out a big sheet of paper in some public place with some question on it and the demand to leave a line or two. Not the originality of what you are doing is requested, but your own take on something common.

So in short, let’s see what I and my dear co-bloggers would find interesting on chartfag’s latest visual guide.

* NOTE FROM AIZEN: Nothing is ever final from what I say. I could say I will watch it one day and then not the other. Don’t blame me, blame the Anime for being unable to enthrall me.

Durarara!!

The “distorted love story” is set in Tokyo’s rowdy Ikebukuro neighbourhood, and revolves around an ensemble cast of street thugs, high school students, a female radio host, an underworld doctor, a young information vendor, and a headless Irish fairy.

Gargron: The name’s nice. In else, I generally like romantics evolving around multiple characters. Picks: yes.

Ammy: The plot sounds pretty interesting and the cast is very nice. Hopefully this will be very good. Picks: yes.

Llora-chan: It looks amzing and exciting! Definitely a must-watch for me. Picks: Yes

Aizen: Doesn’t sound interesting to me. The artwork doesn’t appeal to me (looks like Library Wars art). Picks: no.

Dance in the Vampire Bund

After millenia in hiding, Vampire Princess Mina Tepes uses her wealth to pay off Japan’s national debt, in return for an off-coast “special district” haven for her kind. On the eve of a landmark press conference, terrorists and rival factions plot to assassinate Tepes before she can declare the existence of vampires.

Gargron: Pretty girl with pretty vampire teeth, and a conspiracy story. Well, I’m in. Picks: yes.

Ammy: Not into vampires anymore (blame Twilight). I might just watch the first few episodes. Picks: undecided.

Llora-chan: Blood… Nakedness… Blood… Picks: No

Aizen: I think I saw part of the Manga. It sucks. She’s a loli that’s f-ing old. NOT WANT! Picks: no.

So Ra No Wo To

In a future land marred by long-lasting war, a quiet decline has begun. 15-years-old Kumika realises her dream to elist in the army, and joins a unit of five in protecting a fortress. Together they create music that reverberates across the skies, over empty towns and empty seas.

Gargron: Could be K-ON! with guns. Picks: yes.

Ammy: As others are saying, this series looks like K-ON! Goes To War. The art is very K-On!-like and there’s music too. Considering I missed out on K-On!, I want to check this out. Picks: yes.

Llora-chan: It seems a bit interesting and I love the sentence that says “They create music that reverberates across the skies.” Picks: Yes.

Aizen: Next thing you know someone will make an Anime about toilets.Think about it; “I TOOK A SHIT ON ALL YOUR TOILETS AND THAT WOMAN THERE TOOK THE BIGGEST SHIT. WE ARE NOT MEN, SHE IS!” Picks: no.

Katanagatari

Shichika Yasuri, the 7th generation head of “Kyoto-Ryu” — a medieval school of martial art — lives on an isolated island with his sister Nanami. A military adviser named Togame tells him of the last 12 swords forged by a legendary swordsmith, and Shichika embarks on a journey to find them.

Gargron: Araragi’s hair spin went into mass production and didn’t return. Picks: no.

Ammy: Pass. The Art turns me off. Picks: no.

Llora-chan: From the author of Bakemonogatari! <3 Too bad it’s not from Shaft though~~ Picks: Yes

Aizen: People say it will be like Bakemonogatari and blah blah blah but I think who the fcuk cares. I’ll wait until I have the time to look at another blog’s pictures before I consider it. Picks: no.

Qwaser of Stigmata

In St. Mikhailov Academy, Oribe Mafuyu meets a silver-haired boy called Alexander. He is a Qwaser, a being who can manipulate iron and draws his power from breast milk. A mystery surrounding an Icon transforms the academy into the setting for conflict between the various different Qwasers.

Gargron: Lolwut breast milk Picks: no.

Ammy: Breast milk…? Wow. Picks: no.

Llora-chan: No. Picks: No.

Aizen: The mere fact it has the title “Stigmata” sounds kind of retarded to me. Next thing is that people with white hair in Anime are complete fags (def: inconsiderate assholes). I try to avoid them as much as possible. In another way, drawing power from breast milk is pretty interesting. If there’s enough ecchi, Picks: YeS.

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu

Akihisa attends an academy where test results determine classes. In A class, prodigies can enjoy reclining seats and air-con, but Akihisa’s F class sports decrepit tables and broken windows. He rallies F class to take on higher classes and claim school supremacy by summoning fantasy creatures to battle.

Gargron: I grew out of ‘summoning monsters’ shows when I was 6 years old. Picks: no.

Ammy: Doesn’t interest me. Picks: no.

Llora-chan: I kinda liked what I saw from the trailer so I’m a bit interested. Picks: Yes.

Aizen: Just by looking at the picture I’ll have to watch it. Why? The Manga is funny and cool. Fuck them for being shota + loli, though. Picks: YeS.

Hidden God

Hiroshi moves into Jogamochi, a serene village with a river that divides old and new, where ancient traditions still remain. Bewildered, he settles in and befriends his classmates, but Nemuru Kushinada’s only words are warning to stay away from the old part of town. There, terror and mystery await.

Gargron: I like traditions and pagan gods. Another one Kannagi? Even if so, I’d having nothing against more Kannagi. Hope in-show art will differ from that loli as she is now. Picks: yes.

Ammy: YES! I was excited for this the moment I heard of it. Peach Pit + Ryukishi07 = WIN. Picks: yes.

Llora-chan: Peach-Pit chara-designs? Picks: Yes.

Aizen: I see the word God and I’m already turned off. If a blog can somehow make this Anime look and sound good, I might consider. But looking at the picture more I see a girl who is loli. NOT WANT! Picks: no.

Omamori Himari

Yuto Amakawa is an ordinary 16-years-old high school boy protected by Himari, a beautiful, sword-wielding catgirl spirit. He is descended from a family known for subjugating demons. With his protective charm now impotent, Himari appears before him as his new guardian.

Gargron: Although the setting appears pretty silly (catgirls as srs bsnss?) it could be a good comedy. Picks: undecided.

Ammy: Nah. Doesn’t really seem interesting. It needs some super awesome twist. Picks: no.

Llora-chan: Not really~ Picks: No.

Aizen: Plot sucks. Manga sucks. The main character is just another Natsuru in disguise. He would go in my death note if I had one. Picks: no. just no.

Ladies Vs Butlers

Akiharu Hino looks like a juvenile delinquent, but he enrolls into an academy that was once a school for upper-class ladies. Placed in the school’s new servant training department, where students are raised to be maids or butlers, Akiharu finds himself stuck in the middle of its bickering cliques.

Gargron: The main character is not a maid. And the summary isn’t all that promising. Picks: undecided.

Ammy: It sounds generic, but I’d be lying if I said I don’t at least want to check it out. Picks: undecided.

Llora-chan: Nope. Picks: No.

Aizen: Shit, when will ideas start anew? Innovation has died in the Anime world. FML. Picks: no.

Chu-Bra!!

Nayu shocks her schoolmates on the first day of middle school by wearing black lace panties. She aims to “spread the word on the merits of underwear”, and help other girls concerned with their development — by opening an underwear club.

Gargron: Excuse me, what?!! Picks: no.

Ammy: Wow. I’m at a loss of words. Picks: no.

Llora-chan: *sighs* Picks: No.

Aizen: Looks hot, I think it’s not. I’m not interested in panties. I’m interested in pantie hoses. So f this piece of shit. Picks: no.

There you’ve heard it, ladies and gentlemen. The crazy choices of animes from crazy people. This is Shion963, Channel A^2 news.

I don’t see any mech-y, sword-ish, sci-fi kinda stories. Mostly fantasy and ecchi. Well, at least I’ll have Gundam 00 Qan[T] movie to look forward to.

DRRR!! and Nodame finale are my only solid choices atm. But yea, really should do episode samplings on air, but these type of “pickings” are still good so you can sift through want you want to sample, then go from there.

The only series I plan on watching for now is Vampire Bund, assuming it is as violent as the trailer indicated it to be. The lack of mecha is a bit disappointing.
