Welcome to Fun With Stereotypes. Is your plot alright? Do you have okay character designs? Well, it’s now time to give your characters personalities. What better way than use stereotypes that most people hate and/or are sick and tired of seeing?
The Male Protagonist — The Boring, Nice Guy Who Everyone Just LOVES
Make sure to make him nice and maybe a bit of a pushover. For the heck of it, let’s make him blush a lot and have a crippled sister. The whole class pretty much likes him as well. Don’t forget he’ll have a clingy jealous girl as his admirer. Wow! The audience will love him, right?
Clingy Jealous Girl
Speak of the devil! This girl will immediately take a liking to our protagonist. Why? Who knows. She’ll be so clingy that she’ll constantly grab onto his arm, announce her love like it is no big deal, and doing everything in her power to make sure he’ll only interact with her. This character will probably annoy the audience until they want to stab her, but let’s add her anyway. You have the option of giving her a sad past to make us sympathize. It’s your call.
Class Representative

Hello, I have no real flaws as of right now. But when you find out my flaw, it probably won’t be anything big.
Okay, she’s not exactly the class rep but she resembles one kinda. This character is pretty. She seems quite caring. She’s also friends with our clingy jealous girl. Any objections? There won’t be anything remarkable about her. Unless she turns out to be a yandere. That would be interesting.
The Mysterious Loner
She should have directed that quote to Isuzu. Now, let’s add a mysterious loner. It seems like the class doesn’t like her. She may be considered weird, cursed, and just lacks social skills. Your choice. We shall add a bit of mystery to her to make the audience interested.
Thoughts
The first episode wasn’t all that bad. The plot is not horrible and still interests me, but the characters are just…annoying. Isuzu better change soon or else.
Honestly, it was annoying just to watch each character come on and immediately know what kind of person they are. Nothing really remarkable about any of them. Nemuru is okay though. She actually is the most likable character I see here. Hiroshi is just BLEH.
Some of the labels I gave them might be wrong, but that’s my first impression of them. I’m sick and tired of the clingy jealous girl and the loser protagonist who somehow gets multiple girls to like him. I mean, seriously, how does he even do it?
I’ll continue watching, but I have to say the overall episode was just meh.

I basically feel like you about this show. Especially Isuzu (whose head I would gladly smash in). But there’s going to be killing, right? So that should make it okay!
It’d be kind of nice if there were some more characters introduced or something though…because these aren’t going to be enough to carry the show as they stand now, I don’t think.

TvTropes makes this post WIN.
Is it just me, or does The Mysterious Loner look very interesting..
I dislike Clinger girl but the Jealous factor balances things out.
SHOULD HAVE JEALOUS TSUNDERE!
Fail, I shan’t watch. ;p
Perfect show to take the spot that 11eyes occupied last season. The same formula that we’ve seen over and over, but yet still enjoyable if not taken too seriously.
