Omamori Himari

A-A-A-AACHHIIIII

It was a long time since we last posted and believe me, it was as painful for us as it was for you. But now licking the wound we shall turn back onto the rails with this post.

I was long sitting in front of the blank post screen, and pondered what to write about, because gods know — I wanted to write again. All the pretty anime of the season seem to have all been mentioned already, with Durarara, Baka to Test and Sora No Woto. I even already burned Dance in the Vampire Bund in a fire, and Ammy kicked Hidden God’s ass. So, what am I going to post about? Oh, you will be surprised. Omamori Himari, the show nobody talks about.

Omamori Himari is a rather fanservice-centered anime about your typical normal high school lad who suddenly turns out to be not so normal as thought. A guardian spirit literally jumps out of the blue to protect him from sudden demons’ attacks, him turning out to be from an ancient demon slayer family. Now the cat allergic protagonist has to live with a curvy guardian spirit… with cat ears and a tail. Oh, the predictable irony.

I have seen many people disliking it; there wasn’t a single person who liked it or at least, publicly told about that. Besides short blurbs, there wasn’t one single decent post on it. But being targeted at a male audience, Omamori Himari is good — for this audience only. That I like my manliness being targeted aside, the gags are funny, and the plot is even a little interesting. And the rest’s then nice fanservice.

This is not comparable with the highlights of the season, and pretty predictable, but nevertheless a nice time waste. If you haven’t yet, I’d recommend you trying it. I have prepared you for what to expect.

    Hmm…I personally ignored that show’s existence…and since I hadn’t heard much about it, I figured it wasn’t work un-ignoring.

Well, not necessarily. You’re just the only person who I respect that I remember writing a positive post about it.

Yea, I’ve been meaning to start this one up. There’s quite a few followers in #ab and they usually chat it up on air dates. :)

    Plus, it’s Ami Koshimizu :)
