No more free anime on Crunchyroll

Now only paying members will enjoy anime series on CrunchyRoll.com, although now absolutely legally. This is shit, in my opinion.

Edit: I mean when a free website wants money, it’s sad. Here’s the source: [link] I understood the following: no more fansubs, no more free streaming, not all shows will be up even for paying members, etc. Excuse me if I’m wrong.

Any suggestions for alternative places (free, of course)?

I thought that paying members only get better quality viewage on CR. Well there’s legit sites like Hulu, which has a bunch of Funimation shows and Veoh has a bunch of uploads. Also, every once in a blue moon, iTunes will have free anime episodes up. Otherwise I’d stick to getting stuff straight from the fansubbers since they usually have their own IRC channels, torrents or direct downloads.

I’d be more specific but I feel more prone to play “identity protection” for sites whom the corporations don’t want to compete with. :x

Veoh is good for anime! I use is all the time! I have never used crunchy roll so I can’t compare the quality but it’s just like YouTube style I guess. some episodes will require Veoh TV, it’s just a quick download and plays Veoh streams quickly.

CrunchyRoll was, R.I.P., free and high-quality streaming portal, and although the HD videos required money the high quality version was enough for a 19″ screen. I use Veoh (I have no other choice), but I can’t install any programmes of it, so some eps are unavailable for me.

    Whut? That’s not true!
Paying members get 720p quality and day one access to some of the currently airing shows (non-paying have to wait a week for those shows), non-paying members still get all the previous quality options and 480p, which is a step above the previous h.264 in terms of actual video-quality and resolution.

Your post doesn’t speak truth. Crunchyroll is doing great stuff now (despite the unfortunate removal of all previous user-uploads =<)

I updated the post and hope it will clarify my point of view. If what you say is though true I’m happy.

“But please check out the Anime Membership offering – this will give you earlier access and HD quality streams!“
    From your source ^^
No more fansubs and no more user-uploads, but everything will be viewable in the regions it is allowed for.
Many older shows only have licenses for US out, meaning europe won’t be getting many of the shows, but any new stuff will be available for streaming everywhere with a one-week delay for certain shows (Such as Naruto Shippuuden). Pay and you get to watch right away (and in higher quality), don’t pay and you’ll just have to wait a week. The haven’t even lowered the quality from their previous offerings. In fact, everyone gets access to quality even higher than their previous

Sorry, my bad, H264 and 480p aren’t always available anymore. The anime is still available, however. I’m definitely going to pay for a membership eventually.
