Needless impressions on Needless

vlcsnap-2009-07-07-15h05m20s62

Needless has the rhytm of Sengoku Basara and Gurren Lagann and setting and optic of Marvel/DC Comics (Hence all the captions after each action, and hence the feeling that the watcher is supposed to be a dummy not understanding anything without seeing it written).

The first episode was full of punches and cool “You thought you won but I’m better” poses. Both can be only credited to two wonderful characters. It are the battle priest and the doppelgänger loli.

The Battle Priest

He reminds me of Aniki from Gurren Lagann with his attitude, though his body shape is far more clichéed “manly”. I wonder why he is a priest… His bible though is really a weapon against the infidels.

The Doppelgänger Loli

vlcsnap-2009-07-07-13h53m33s236

She is, roughly expressed, quite bitchy. (In the end she shows some good side of hers though. Nah okay, her good side is visible through all the episode, and it’s not a surprise with that clothing. Okay, “clothing” is too overrated here). She has the ability to misspeak all kind of names, just like my grandfather. (From his point of view, Google is pronounsed [’go:o:‘gle..] and Skype [sku..pe..]). Regarding her appereance, with that her ability “to take a shape of what she wants” it is no wonder why the “tsurupettan” song is not about her. My current reason to wait for the next episode is she.

The ending deserves a dedicated paragraph. It has absolutely no relation with the plot (so far), but has plenty of yuri. A mystery is, why so, but well, it can freely just stay that way. Here I’m not alone I think.

I did not have a feeling “the hell I like it”, but nothing bad too. Maybe I should state that usually I’m taking screenshots afterwards — but this time I couldn’t stay calm, and saved everything right away. I decided to give it a first-lookish 7/10.

You mean “Aniki”, “Aneki” means “big sister”. Yes I compared this to TTGL immediately. Still, Eve Neusch is way more <3 as a bitchy little girl with boobs.

Needless to say, Needless has no need for subs.

Oh shi– I should have known that. But I write what I hear without thinking…

A battle priest and a loli in one show? Should be a watch!

But if anything can come up to the similarities of Gurren Lagann will definitely be in my list. Might consider this…

TTGL with a poor fanservice. This is what Needless is.

Excuse me but I think the fanservice is not so bad. Have you seen what Eve wears? Or better formed, what she not wears?
