Inuyasha: The Final Act [End]

ZOMG!!111one

ASDSLH! THEY KISSED.

Well, here we are at the final end to Inuyasha. I’m going to miss it terribly. All those years of fangirling and Inuyasha plushie snuggling will come to an end. At least Inuyasha goes out with a great end.

We start off at where the last episode left off. The Shikon Jewel is trying to get Kagome to make a wish. If she makes a wish, she’ll be stuck inside the jewel forever.

Inuyasha is trying to reach to her, but he cannot. He yells out, and she hears him. The Shikon Jewel is all like, “Do you wish to see Inuyasha? Hint hint.” Kagome, being awesome, believes Inuyasha will come for her without her wishing on the jewel.

My mini Kagome is awesome rant: She is just damn awesome. Despite how scared she is, she doesn’t make a wish to go back home or to see Inuyasha. She knows that she has to make the correct wish on the Shikon Jewel. I just love her chemistry with Inuyasha as well. There is so much faith and trust between them. Like earlier in the season, when he goes all full-demon and pushes her down, she thinks to herself that Inuyasha wasn’t trying to hurt her. He was trying to help her. Kinda strange thinking there, but you see she truly believes that Inuyasha would never hurt her because she trusts him. Okay, this is turning into a InuKag rant. You get the point that she’s awesome for having so much faith in the person she loves.

Le gasp. He comes. And then…

ZOMG!!111one

I was totally freaking out when they kissed. Thank you, Sunrise. THANK YOU. And it didn’t look kinda strange like the almost one in episode 18! The manga didn’t have a kiss, so I’m happy to see one in the anime. Sure, the second movie had one, but that movie isn’t canon. Well, this kiss isn’t completely canon considering it wasn’t in the manga, but it’s as canon as it gets. The manga was just “You’re here!” and hug. Now it’s “You’re here!” and kiss.

Kagome makes her wish to destroy the Shikon Jewel. The jewel shatters, and Inuyasha and Kagome float in sparkles. We saw a  glimpse of Naraku commenting on the warmth. I like how Takahashi tried to show Naraku’s more human side near the end of series. It lets you know that he’s not a completely horrible. He still has feelings. That doesn’t make up for what he’s done, but he’s partially human too.

3 years later…Hey, I can sort read that. Anyways, we see that Miroku and Inuyasha are still ripping people off with their services. Well, they have to make a living somehow. It’s the most reasonable way.

Miroku and Sango have three cute kids — two of them being twins. It’s great that these two finally got married and had kids! Kids were expected because we all know Miroku loves sex. I’m glad there was some focus on the pairing in Final Act. We got to see that Sango would sacrifice someone to save Miroku’s life. Not what most main characters are shown to do in anime. Most of them have unbelievable heroic instinct to try to save everyone. It was refreshing to see Sango had some shades of gray. We got the kiss for them animated as well. Really wish they would mention it later. Just for fun. Alas, we can’t everything.

Kagome’s stuck at her own time. Inuyasha brought her back, and then the well ate Inuyasha. not literally. It just took him back to the feudal era. Kagome spend the next three years completing high school.

Oh my gosh, congrats Kagome! We all know you worked really hard. She was always studying in the feudal era and trying her best on tests. I’m really glad she got to at least finish high school before going back to Inuyasha. Education comes before romance.

Kagome goes to the well, thinking of how she wants to see Inuyasha. It opens up, and she receives permission from her mom to go back. On the other side, Inuyasha smells her scent and rushes to the well. And then…

ASHDGA! I loved this scene. I LOVE it. When the last chapter came out with this as a page, I put it as my wallpaper. But now I have my InuKag kiss. Mwhahaha. Seriously, this scene is one of my favorites. It’s just that the way they look at each other.

So now for the epilogue. Hojo moved on (finally). Sota has friends (gasp) and they ask about his sister. He tells them she got married right after high school. Cue me giggling happily. On a side note, Sota’s voice doesn’t suit older Sota.

Also we get to see Koga in the epilogue! He finally married Ayame like he promised too. It’s nice Koga was included in the epilogue as well. He totally missed out on the final battle against Naraku. Apparently, he got over Kagome and fell for Ayame during this time. I really don’t have a opinion on Ayame. She’s…cute? It’s good that they get a happy ending though.

Kagome and Inuyasha see Sesshomaru coming to give Rin a new kimono. Kagome then calls Sesshy big brother XD Another part I loved watching. Inuyasha’s face is something to laugh at too.

And so, Kagome and Inuyasha live happily ever after.

Final Thoughts On Series As A Whole

Well, it was a long run. 167 + 24 = 191 episodes. Maybe a few plot holes here and there, but it was a great series overall. It was entertaining, dramatic, and funny. You just learn to love all the characters and continue on with the series to find out what happens to them.

The ending is great. There’s little to nothing I would like to change about it. Maybe an InuKag kid? Still, I liked the series, and the ending was great. It’s time to say goodbye to Inuyasha for good.

…or I can say goodbye when the dub comes out?

    Excuse my language below.

Fuck Inu Yasha and Fuck Kagome. They are supposedly married but where the hell is the quarter-demon-child? It ended too happily for me — it’s not my taste. The only one who gained my respect in this show is Miroku and Sango for actually popping their cherry. In the end, is Inu Yasha just going to protect Kagome or is he going to finally screw her? Oh wait, she’s a priest now right? Priests don’t want to get fucked. Shat my pants for nothing.

3/10 — where the 3 comes from the Monk and Demon Slayer.

I’m kinda with you buddy, on the happy ending part not everything else. its not truly a happy ending because Inuyasha and Seshomoru “Sorry for misspelling” have to watch the women they love grow old and die eventually. I mean what the fuck. what about the demons with have to live eternity with the women they love. they might end up killing them selves.

Though I agree and sympathize with Inuyasha on the nature of loving a mortal, I really fail to see how its all that much different than it is for ANYONE ELSE who lives on after their beloved’s death. He may have a much longer time span than humans put in this situation, but it still boils down to the same thing. Inuyasha is strong, he realizes she’s mortal, but that won’t stop him from loving her and letting them be together for the time that they have in this world. He kept his feelings from her throughout the first series, and when she was stuck in her own time for 3 years after they defeated Naraku, he saw the dangers inherent in being afraid to show your feelings for another: that the time you COULD have spent together was squandered by your indecision. Fear of loss shouldn’t stop you from loving, just as fear of death shouldn’t stop you from living.

I personally loved the final act, it was a bit rushed and crammed but I enjoyed it. I do agree that I would have liked to see what happened after they got married, kids etc. but I guess that is what fanfics are for. HOWEVER I would like to know why lots of people always say Kagome chose to give up her own time for Inuyasha, now that the well opened up again can’t she just go back and forth? Also about the ageing difference you know that that was only in the movie right? and the movies I look at as being separate because they mess up the facts of the rest of the story for example, how Inuyasha’s father dies, Myoga says he died in battle with Ryokosei that big dragon pinned to the cliff face, but in the movie he dies in a fire –_– he is a huge dog demon i’m sure if he wanted he could have peed that fire out.

his father didnt die cus of the fire .… he died cus of the wound from Ryokosei realy badly hurt that the only reason he died.

I totally agree with you on this one. And after 3 7 years of being a fan girl for the InuKag thing i have decide to write a fanfic for kagome and inuyasha’s ending. Because im sick of this ending i mean i love it but we as Inuyasha fans need more. (we are never fully happy are we?) . I have been up all night writing the story for Inuyasha and i have chapter 1 done, i made a fanfic.com account but i have to wait 3 days i think to post something. email me if you want a sneak peak. T.T It’s just so sad! Too sad! The end of my first ever anime series! The end of my first shipping obsession! The end of the end of the end! –Runs away sobbing– BUT YAY THAT FLAPPING KISSED! I about had a heart attack when I saw that. I was like…O.O…They no kissy in manga! KYAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAH! .…I really think over all it was a great ending to a great story. I also love how Kagome has always been kinda weak (but growing in power) and then it all comes down to her power in the end. Tis beautiful. And now a happy Kagome/Inuyasha married life can be enjoyed by all~

The greatest disappointment of my life. Potential-rich charakters, great simbolism, beautiful musics and feelings.

And were did all theese good elements end up? A childish fairy-tail with one of the most pathetic solution ever saw in anime!

Takahashi Rumiko is truly a rosty, old-fashion writer, who thinks: every single feeling, happening and thought in life is work of faith. You either smile at this whole over-complecated predestination, or you die. And you cannot even be free, when your reborn!

Too long, too much extra, too predestand, too konservative, too childish (despite the more serious tone of the Final Act). The feelings — no mather how pure and honest they might be — are running in circles.
No true development, originality or greater view.

In short: The story of Inuyasha is a parasite, that handles realism like some unknown shit of style. Romantice atmosphere can NEVER be excuse for logical nonsence!

Okay first off you need to shut up. What your doing is wrong. Now don’t get me wrong I love a person who can state there opion, but your taking it too far, and someone who would leave such a nasty comment about such a wonderful, and pasionate series, they have issues, and they are very disrespectful. I’m happy I don’t know you because if I did then I would be very disappionted in you. You don’t just come to a site were you know your not gonna like the subject, and start posting nasty comments about it. Thats very immature. Children, and adults are gonna come here to talk about there passion for the series, and when they see your comment they aren’t gonna like it, so just be prepared for a lot of hate mail.

Couldn’t have put that one better myself, if you don’t like it then don’t watch it. Respect to one of my favorite anime shows of all time, never gonna be one like it again! In terms of a concrete story FMA might have it beaten but in terms of chemistry of the characters and overall feel to the show, its no contest. I’m not gonna be sad yet though at least not until I get to hear Sesshomaru feel sad about Kagura dying. Finally Sesshomaru has a heart and I can’t even hear it with his usual, awesome voice!! LOVE IT, like i said never gonna be another like it..

I have been following this series since I was 13 or 14. now I’m 22 and I can’t believe it’s over… sorry got distracted. Anyways, probably the best series I have watched. It has romance, comedy, action, fantasy eveyrthing! It’s a complete package.I’m finally happy to see that all the loose ends in the series were tied and taken care of and we got to see Inuyasha and Kagome finally end up together happily. The kiss.…probably the most passionate and awaited kiss I have ever seen in an anime. Im just so happy the series ended in this way. Rumiko gets an A+

I have to say I’m happy for miroku and sango.
But the final act needed more inukag.
In the original series u can tell there was more fluff between the two.
In TFA it was about being more serious.
    :/
I am glad the two kissed
But it wasn’t all that passionate like I wanted.…..

I’m dissapointed that I didn’t see any inu babies either.

    I loved the happy ending.

However, something really nagged at me after the end, “Can Kagome go back and see her family?” Living in the feudal era is fine and all, but it feels a bit hollow if she can’t go back and see her family once in awhile.

Or maybe, she can go back to the future present every once in awhile, its just that the author didn’t find that bit of information important enough to mention in the wrap-up.

I think I’ll believe in my latter speculation, it puts my mind at ease, since I find family to be significant. After her family helped Kagome so much in between her journey, them not being able to see Kagome ever again just makes me irritably sad…

How the fuck are Kagome and Inuyasha going to have kids already? She’s fucking what? 18? And the ending only leaves it off at her just returning to the Feudal Era. Leave it to your imagination what is going to take place when they are older.

Enjoyed the finale — although it was kind of anticlimactic. I’m just wondering if Kagome is still able to return to her world whenever she pleases — it’d be quite sad if she isn’t able to at least visit her family on the other side.

I love InuYasha ending as it is. It just awesome. I agreed with Wow ‘Leave it to your imagination what is going to take place when they are older.‘
Logically, I think if they will ever have children, these children would be humans, because, as in real life with animals, half breeds can’t have offspring, but because Inuyasha have a night when he is human… well… Just like that would be possible for me. And just like that I would accept it.
Also, a miko is supposed to left her duty when she get married so she can take care of her new family (husband + children), so Kagome both being a miko and being married to Inuyasha means to me that she just has the spare time because she don’t think they will be able to have a son. This is where I like to think she is wrong jeje.
