How thrillingly amazing. But you got me, right? You have seen through my elaborate plan. Today is April’s Fools day, and I am suddenly blogging, about anime. It couldn’t be any less obvious! This anime, picked from Scamp’s Summer 2012 chart because of its most pleasant illustration image, is just a decoy.

My connection to anime has hit the sack, died of starvation and rotted to the bones in the last year. My path begun with Hayao Miyazaki, jogged into seasonal marathoning and “keeping up” with every possibly anime of the season and considering everyone who didn’t do that “uncool”, and now this path ends. On my way, I encountered truly good things. Ghost In The Shell being one of them, or the most sweet Kamisama Kazoku. But as the number of anime I’ve seen grew, the patterns became more and more obvious. It has become boring and dull, because your average new anime show is just an nth copy of an older anime.

Of course every work of art is based on and inspired by a previous work of art. There is no “true originality” per se. But by an odd coincidence, other mediums show a higher effort to shit ratio. That ratio is not high, don’t take me wrong. When I enter a book shop, I fight the urge to leave the book shop, because dozens of Stephanie Meyers, werewolves and dragons stare at me from the book shelves. I probably don’t even have to mention modern Hollywood. But nevertheless, I can think of a very large list of books worth reading and films worth watching. The list of anime in this case, is rather small. Yes, I certainly didn’t watch it all. I don’t claim I did. And you could argue that anime is younger, and did not have the time to accumulate the same ratio. I don’t know. I honestly don’t. But by my subjective perception, this medium is no longer part of my daily life.

…

Godspeed, anime community.

Eugen out.

…

Find me elsewhere:

Headmaster wants to test out a new system but it causes the summon spirits (is that what they’re called?) to inform everyone of their secrets.

So I’ve begun to dislike Himeji and Minami more and more as the episodes pass on. It lies in the fact that I don’t like the way they act when it comes to Akihisa… it’s annoying >_< But other than that, the second part of the episode was cute. I loved how Hideyoshi’s summon being (that’s it, i think) told everyone that a guy confessed to him for the 3rd time this month XD Even outside of school he’s thought of as a girl. His being is soo cute <3 Minami’s being was cute too while she was with Akihisa. But things didn’t go well for him after that~

I was over at Tenka Seiha reading Aroduc’s post on this episode and I was about to comment and tell him how I agree that this show should get back into battling mode until I read this comment. Just like my reply to that comment, I completely forgot that they were suspended for losing to Class A. So unless the series speeds up the timeline or makes some special exception, we’re not going to see any battling from Class F or from any class in that matter. Class A is the only class that’s not suspended… are they allowed to battle any other class even though the rest of the classes are suspended?
<p

Being identical twins can come with benefits…or not. Hideyoshi got into a lot of trouble saying a little too much (telling the guy about Yuko’s “literature” preferences) or much too little (telling Shouko about wearing underwear that day). It was really funny that Akihisa finds Hideyoshi to be more feminine than Yuko although Yuko had kept her actual voice. Even though Yuko may be academically-gifted, Hideyoshi’s talent comes out as an actor and singer. Proof? Hideyoshi was able to portray Yuko almost perfectly. He even was able to sound like a girl.

Hideyoshi is my favorite character! <3 Just wanted to throw that out there…
<p

It was pretty cute and it showed off Akihisa’s kind side. If Minami knew who actually gave her that stuffed animal it could probably improve the relationship between her and Akihisa… or maybe not. You gotta remember that Akihisa is an idiot so even that may not help his case. But anyways, from what I remember I don’t think there was ever a time that mentioned how Hazuki and Akihisa ever met. Well, this would be that episode then. Let’s see~ if we include Akihisa’s sister that makes 4 girls after Aki’s heart? I think Hazuki (after she grows up) is the best option for Aki… if Aki wants to keep his life… maybe. Don’t kill me for saying that please~

Artists&Clients, which is a platform/marketplace for artists who seek to be hired for a commission and people who need an artist to do a commission. Basically, the idea came out of the common way of processing commissions and looking for artists being terrible; I went and thought of a way to make it convenient for both sides.

I researched before I started planning it out, I talked to a bunch of different people. I already had people asking me whether this is “like Behance Network”, and I already proved that no, it isn’t. In fact, it’s not a personal shop or portfolio. It’s a directory of services. As an artist, setting up slots (custom-priced, different types of work you offer) is a breeze; as a client, browsing and requesting is easy; and for both, paying and getting payed is very straight-forward.

The platform is in heavy development. Meanwhile, a teaser page is up — where you can sign up to be notified when the site launches. I strongly suggest and ask you to sign up, as while I have proved through my numerous previous webapps that your e-mail address is safe with me, each subscribe gives me the motivation in from of a warm and fuzzy feeling inside.

Remember: <span

But even then, he soon lost Chroniko’s body. Thanks to our sheriff Vanila, Kaiba was able to return back to his original body. Which, I have been wondering if it has been right to be calling Kaiba by Kaiba and not Warp. They keep calling him that so maybe it’s more correct to say Warp… I’ll continue to call him Kaiba for the sake of clarity… although, for some reason, a plant shares his name. There’s apparently more than one Warp and the Kaiba we know is just a copy of the real one.

I actually started to feel bad for the sheriff.… I know he’s pretty corrupt but seeing him do all those things for Chroniko (Kaiba) really makes him a good person at heart. Waiting for Chroniko with ice cream in the rain for hours made him get a fever! Even still, he was kind to Chroniko. That was the start of me wondering if I should change my view about him. He even began to get in trouble for being associated with Chroniko for whatever reason. He still protected Chroniko with all his might to the point where his licence was revoked and he lost all his rights and also sacrificed his life to save her. What made things worse was that his love was one-sided. I haven’t really decided if I like him or not… I know that I definitely don’t hate him.

<img

This isn’t known at first. The very first thing you do find out is that Gel is in fact a woman. Because of Gel’s body type, it was troublesome to pee so Kaiba actually had to help Gel out XD I found that extremely hilarious!

I liked Popo before but these episodes I saw (5–9) changed my mind about him. We see that he’s manipulated Neiro’s mind and had his face replace Kaiba in all of her good memories of him. This causes Neiro to believe that the one she loves is Popo and not Kaiba. But the bad memories of Kaiba were left like when he destroyed her. Anyways, I stopped liking Popo. That Issoudan he was a part of was like a dangerous nonconformist cult. The 3 leaders of the cult, each named Dada, turned out to be an incomplete Warp that had the ancient technology within their grasp. With all the technology they had they had things go their way. Cheki tries to get Neiro to remember her real memories but to no avail. Popo is really deceiving. Especially when Neiro finally sees Kaiba again.

<img

Popo manages to contact him for a meeting between him and the Dadas. But as soon as that Warp comes for the meeting he instantly gets destroyed. He’s dead. At least our Kaiba is in good hands. It must have been faster than even Zetsubou-sensei! But anyways, I really thought that I was going to like this more than Kaiba but the opposite seemed to happen. I think what made me like Kaiba more was that each episode in Tatami Galaxy was just a restart of Watashi’s first two years in college. Don’t get me wrong, it was interesting but it’s just not as gratifying as Kaiba has been.

The setup is quite interesting. We have a matchmaking god that I think is the cause of the time warp, that along with Watashi’s desire to change his messed up life. The first episode basically sets the trend for later episodes. At the end of that episode Watashi states that if he joined a different club or circle then he would have never met the source of his disaster, Ozu, and would have had the rose-colored college life he dreamed of presumably with Akashi. After that, each episode explores the different life paths Watashi said would lead him to his desired life but the fact is that each choice still follows a similar pattern. In essence, the same stuff is basically going to happen but with slight differences.

Despite that, it still manages to be entertaining. I at first was put off with Ozu’s demonic demeanor but as the episodes passed I found him to be slightly funny but still mischevious. The character that really grossed me out definitely had to be the guy who had an obsession with boobs. I mean, having a wall of boobs and drinking out of baby bottles (cuz it’s like breastfeeding) is going way too far. I really love Akashi and her hatred for moths XD her whole personality is great and she really is blunt about things. What really connects her and Watashi is the promise he made with her. Now, I don’t think that Watashi feels much for Akashi. He may like her but I don’t think it’s anywhere near love. On the topic of love, Ozu has mentioned that Watashi has had a girlfriend before but Watashi doesn’t say much except for the fact that it failed. Hopefully, more light will be brought upon it.

What I’m waiting for the most is when the episodes start to have profound changes. I can’t wait to stop seeing that fortune teller lady. As it’s going, it looks like there may not be away to escape from Ozu and he’s going to have to accept that fact. Instead of focusing on the past, he may have to just look to the future for change. But we’ll see soon… it’s a good thing I’m marathoning it. I won’t have to wait weeks to see the end of his endeavors <img

I felt the episodes went way too fast for me! I guess that shows how much I wanted to keep seeing more. At first I wasn’t really interested because of the fact that Kaiba was a boy who had lost his memories and that whole amnesia thing felt too overused. I quickly got passed that and the hole in his chest (which is much like an Arrancar’s).

I found the first episode to be extremely odd but at the same time I thought that it actually may have meaning. Now I’m not sure if I’m over thinking this but when Popo talked about the cloud separating the poor and the rich I immediately thought about the caste system and the inability to freely climb up. Also, only the rich are privileged to buy bodies. This made me think of slavery. It sorta is, in a sense. But other than that, there’s probably more to the idea of exchangeable bodies. Anyways, more importantly, I think the big thing is the strange markings on Kaiba. What does it mean? It’s not bright and it’s not vivid… so double rainbow is out of the question.

After the first episode, there was an introduction in the episode that made sense of everything. I like the fact that it keeps you updated on which body Kaiba is in. Now I actually need help on something… how did Kaiba get into the hippo body? I’ve checked a few times but I don’t see how he got there (unless I keep missing the reason).

Now, one of the weirdest things I found was in the second episode. Kaiba’s original body had so much sex with this lady that the lady exploded! I guess here’s where they say: Too much of a good thing is bad. Sorta on topic, I was really surprised with size of that lady with the massive boobs (you know, that lady who was the mistress of a guy who looked like a monkey).
<p

He is extremely annoying. Not only is he a nuisance but he is also corrupt. The only time I did like him was him toying with Cloak at the end of episode one. But he ended up killing a couple and let the massive-boobs lady go because of her adjective. But with the killing of the couple, it showed that not everyone has a memory chip. You need to convert for that. I hope this is explored more in the future. The sheriff ends up helping Kaiba only because he doesn’t know the body was taken over by Kaiba. Kaiba takes Chroniko’s body and because she’s so cute the sheriff decides to be helpful.

As for Chroniko, she was a very good girl doing what she thought was best for her family. But there are many corrupt people in the world and one such person took advantage of her and took her memory chip. The only good that came out of that was that Kaiba was now able to use her body, at least it was better than her being sold off to a pedophile. We were at least able to see her mother and brothers and how her mother worked so hard to make her children happy, to the point of doing extremely dangerous jobs (which caused her to lose her arms).

So yeah, I got used to the animation style pretty quickly. But I have to say, during the 4th episode, the lighthouse scene (when Kaiba was first brought in and the grandma fixes him up) looked pretty ugly. All the movement just looked disgusting. Focusing on the story, the grandsons only cared for the treasure and not for their dead grandfather and, later, their dead grandmother. This series really does have some moral to it. After they found the treasure, they realized it wasn’t of much worth to them but it was too late: they were left all alone.

The girl in Kaiba’s locket turns out to really be his girlfriend. That scene of them kissing proves it. Finding her will probably trigger Kaiba’s memories.

Watched: 4 episodes out of 12

Creationists, dinosaurs and 9 year olds

Asides

article about a young 9 years old girl questioning the age of a moon rock, being taught by Creationists. To be honest, I never heard of Creationists before — here in Europe, we don’t get to hear about them (maybe they don’t even exist here, I dare to hope). Following the article’s mention of Ken Ham and the Answers In Genesis website, I looked for, and found it. Out of curiosity, I opened the first blog link on their website. It was “Dinosaurs and the Bible”.

Reading through the first few paragraphs, I was intrigued — the writer was not refusing to accept their existence. But the left hook strike came a few more paragraphs later, under the sub-headline “When did Dinosaurs live?”:

When Did Dinosaurs Live?

The story we have all heard from movies, television, newspapers, and most magazines and textbooks is that dinosaurs lived millions of years ago. According to evolutionists, the dinosaurs “ruled the Earth” for 140 million years, dying out about 65 million years ago. However, scientists do not dig up anything labeled with those ages. They only uncover dead dinosaurs (i.e., their bones), and their bones do not have labels attached telling how old they are. The idea of millions of years of evolution is just the evolutionists’ story about the past. No scientist was there to see the dinosaurs live through this supposed dinosaur age. In fact, there is no proof whatsoever that the world and its fossil layers are millions of years old. No scientist observed dinosaurs die. Scientists only find the bones in the here and now, and because many of them are evolutionists, they try to fit the story of the dinosaurs into their view.

That made me speechless. Not a single mention of the radiometric dating technique. We’ve been taught this in 9th grade in physics class, it’s not like it’s something secret, or even difficult to comprehend. Dear Ken Ham, the bones do have labels attached to them telling how old they are. The detailed description of what radiometric dating is can be found in the article linked first in this post.

I wanted to say that to him directly. Tell him that the bible is too, just a book, and he wasn’t there when Jesus supposedly lived and died. I wanted to e-mail him — yet he provides no public e-mail address. The feedback tool on their website requires my full name and address to leave them a message. I’m speechless. All I could do is write this up.
