CANAAN — 10–12

Late~ Blame my internet. My summaries might have some stuff missing.

Episode 10

ZOMBIE ATTACK!

ZOMBIE ATTACK!

The episodes had its ups and downs. Some parts seemed meh and others seemed pretty well done. We have Canaan and the gang going to the factory and leaving Maria and Yunyun behind because they are useless when it comes to fighting. They go in and see zombies unblooms. Hakko freaks out, and Santana runs after her. Then the unblooms are released, leaving Canaan and Mino to fight them. Liang Qi then contacts Hakko via video call. Liang Qi then tries to turn Hakko against Canaan. Hakko refuses (which earned her a bit of love from me). Liang Qi then threatens to kill Santana. Distraught, Hakko leaves to find Liang Qi before she can do anything to him. We return to Maria and Yunyun who decide that they are relevant to the plot of the episode just as much as everyone and decide to go in. Meanwhile, Mino and Canaan are fighting the unblooms and Nastume comes. Yay. Back to Hakko, she is seen entering a room and sees what she thinks is Liang Qi sitting in a chair. Hakko begins talking in her ear-bleeding voice . Surprise, surprise!

OH EM GEE IT'S SANTANA!!!111one

OH EM GEEE!!!!111one

never saw this coming (sarcasm intended). Poor Hakko. Killing the man she loves.

04

Although I saw this scene coming, I do admit it was a sweet scene. Having Hakko say she loves him out loud, even though it’ll kill him… However, I couldn’t help but think “masochist” as he asked her to say she loved him.

Well, after he dies in her arms, she cries out. Ouch.

Liang Qi (who is pretty much just in her underwear during this scene) is laughing at Hakko’s pain and giddy about seeing Alphard.

Oh wow...

Oh wow…

Liang Qi then makes it so that only Canaan can hear Hakko. Canaan and Mino are the halls, and they run into a very emotionally hurt Hakko. Canaan, being hurt by Hakko’s voice, falls to the ground. Mino remembers that Santana wanted him to help Hakko if anything happened to him so Mino gives Hakko a hug (THE MAGIC OF HUGGING).

Maria and Yunyun are in the Flower Garden and see the creepy Canaan clone. Nastume comes and takes her out her gun, pointing it in their direction.

Episode 11

Oh damn.

Alphard to the rescue

Alphard to the rescue

Alphard comes to Maria and Yunyun rescue. Maria and Yunyun leave to find Canaan. Alphard and Nastume talk, as they know each other from before. Alphard gives Nastume a card. Both leave, with Alphard burning the garden.

Lights...I suddenly thought of Kingdom Hearts

Lights…I suddenly thought of Kingdom Hearts

Back to Canaan and Mino. They speak of why Mino wants to protect Hakko, even though Hakko is Santana’s ‘light’. Canaan asks if Hakko is his hope. He is unsure. Maria and Yunyun come and see the injured Mino. They go to him and be themselves (worrying, spitting on him, the usual).

The US force comes in to destroy the site. Canaan goes in to look for Hakko.

McCrazies (Liang Qi) meets with Cummings and Alphard. After some brief fighting, Liang just loses it and takes some experimental pills to give her synaesthesia like Canaan. How did that turn out?

09

…Pretty…

Now that she looks like Canaan, Alphard must love her now, right? No. Alphard tells Liang Qi that her name when she was with Dude (Siam) was Canaan. Liang Qi just flips and looks at herself in the mirror. Being insane, she thinks it’s actually Canaan and orders Cummings to kill Canaan. Cummings asks her if he kills ‘Canaan’, then would she love him? She tells him she would and he shoots her. She looks at herself in the mirror once more and is joyful to see ‘Canaan’ shot. She goes to Cummings and tells him she loves him, dying in his arms.

Meanwhile, Canaan finds Hakko…sleeping with the dead Santana.

10

Sleeping with a dead man…things could be weirder

Hakko refuses to leave. This forces Canaan to leave without her.

Canaan meets up with the gang and tells them she could not save Hakko. Maria then asks if she could take Canaan’s picture. Maria takes the picture and then hugs Canaan.

Episode 12

11

Maria…>.<

Wow. A good set up for the finale, which is the next episode. I’m interested in seeing how things end.

Ugh. A train episode. Action series and trains are not the ideal great episode. Still, the episode was fulfilling.

There was a lot of focus on Canaan, Dude (Siam), and some Alphard in this episode. Maria and Alphard discuss Canaan’s true power and a bit on Canaan’s personality. While this is happening, Canaan is visited by the ghosts of her past. Though, as we know, they weren’t really there. Canaan’s mixed senses were confusing her.

Alphard injures Maria and locks her and Yunyun in a car with a time bomb (so not overdone). Alphard tells Canaan that she is Canaan too and that she is the same as Dude. As they fight, Maria asks Yunyun to leave the car and detach it from the rest of the train. The time bomb, still with Maria, begins to get closer to zero.

Thoughts:

With all this piling on top of one another, things get pretty interesting. I found myself unable to sit through episode 11 though. Episode 12 had confused me a bit with all the dead people visiting Canaan, but I sort of got it after rewatching it. However, something feels missing right now. Whatever is missing, I hope, is cleared up in the next episode. I really hope Canaan pulls out with a good end. As for if I think Maria will survive, I think she most likely will. I doubt they’d kill her off like that. After all, Canaan needs some kind of light to help her. If there had to be another character death, I’d think it would be Alphard or Canaan. One of those two (or even both) dying would leave a satisfying impact for me.

Watch, Siam had actually been alive all along and Alphard was just jealous because he found a new loli and gave her the same name. :P

All joking aside, I’m rather confused with Maria’s thought process. She tells herself she has to live for Canaan and believes that she’s Canaan’s light while she also wants to learn how shine from Canaan…and now contemplates blowing up with the train? D:
Well, I wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t die since Alphard was the one who planted the bomb and told her to live in the first place.

& at the moment, Alphard seems too powerful to be just killed off by Canaan though it’ll probably be a duel to the death once Canaan unleashes her true power.

Either way I’m looking forward to what’s gonna happen. Especially the fight sequences. ^^

True. Maria is a bit confusing to figure out.

I agree. Alphard just seems really powerful. I really am looking forward to how strong Canaan will be when she unleashes her true power

Hearing about the possibilities that you thought about, and didn’t choose would have been a huge amount more beneficial. That way we’d really be experiencing more of your way of thinking as opposed to (just) the outcome :)
