Dear Diary,
Scratch off “Two Is Better Than One” and write “Nine, Which Is Coincidentally the Exact Number of SSS Members Who Sacrifice Themselves, Is Better Than One.”
Continuing from my previous entry, Yuri begins to fight Kanade-clone again. Wait, did anyone notice that she went from “ouch, I just came back from a battle and I am covered in cuts” to “completely healed and ready to fight”? Yes, I am aware we heal quickly here in the afterlife, but our clothes don’t really go back to brand new. Seriously.
Anyway, Yuri and company start attacking Kanade-clone, but we all fail. Kanade then fights Kanade-clone herself, landing her into our school infirmary. We deduct it was her harmonics skill used, and Yuri goes to mess with it on Kanade’s computer. Yuri, not being the most tech savvy person in the word, somehow manages to add a timewait to absorb all the clones after using harmonics.
We go to the Guild again and run into more Kanade-clones. Convenient for us, the number of clones match the number of people we sacrificed exactly. What are the odds?
While Yuri fought off the last one, I ran to the original Kanade and asked her to use harmonics to absorb all the clones. Once she made one clone, this clone explained…that by absorbing all the other clones, she’s absorbing all their consciousnesses at once and she might not be okay after doing this.
You could have told me this earlier. Time for more hugging. Hugging should fix this too, right?

Thoughts
A good episode. Also note that the title of this post isn’t directed at Yuri or any of the other characters by me. It’s just my favorite line from the episode.
Aw, more Yuzuru/Kanade fuel. Even Yuri and Hinata comment on it. Ammy is very happy. I liked how when all of the clones were combining with Kanade and she was screaming, I verbally told Yuzuru though the computer screen to hug her and he did. For you yaoi fans, more Naoi/Yuzuru for you guys. I loved how no one cared Naoi died. Like Yuzuru, I don’t really care much about Naoi. It’s still fun to see bits in the epis ode where he called every one trash, except for Yuzuru of course. Hug ging is that magical.
As for the clones, it did bug me how convenient it was for the number of clones. Kanade-clone had enough time to make a huge army. Instead, we only got nine, if I counted correctly. I was also hoping the clones would be more evil, like so evil that you want to strangle them and scream at your computer screen “NOOO!!!11one” for an hour. Eh. Still, it’s still nice to see how adorable Kanade was waking up. All her consciousnesses combining into one in the original? Should have seen it coming but really didn’t. You could see a bit a conscious in the beginning of the episode where the first clone hesitated just a bit.
One other thing that bother me is that all the SSS members just needed to be stabbed for the others to get through. No struggle? At least hold her down! Also, Yui was useless as usual. She didn’t even get to be stabbed. She had some fun lines though. She points out Naoi’s (un)importance in the story now. His story is over.
Yuri got a little more love from me in this episode too. It was awesome watching her fight the Kanade-clone and win. Smart girl. Plus, she’s not totally against our “Tenshi” anymore. Yup, I think I like Yuri now.
And as quickly as they come, the clones are resigned from the Big Bad position. Seriously? How many two episode antagonists are we going to have? I’m also interested in seeing how Kanade’s going to be now. Will she turn Ax Crazy with all those clones merged in her? Will she be stuck in bed getting better while they fight some new antagonist who seemed to come out of nowhere? Will she roll over and turn into a cat? So many questions.

Hugging! I really didn’t like the technical details of this harmonics thing, kinda lame plot builder.
.-= Ryan A´s last blog post: K-ON!! Bump =-.
*goes a little nuts over the hug* x333 I demand there be more hugging…if Kanade is really going to go all-out villain on us after that massive absorb of all the clones, then only an Otonashi-miracle hug can save her. And screw realistic solutions. Look how he converted Naoi. Problem solved.
I agree that the issue with the clones isn’t a good antagonistic setup. Especially since this is only running for 13 episodes and things are finally getting serious for the better, it doesn’t feel like P.A. Works or Key want to take things seriously at all.
Maybe there’s a defect in everyone on this project, I dunno.
And YEA, how awesome was my Yurippe? <333
Lookin’ forward to the next episode and exactly what Otonashi suddenly “remembered everything” about. 83
