So I’m finally watching a new series — Bakemonogatari. Thing is, it really has 12 episodes but will have the remaining 3 streamed (source: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=96261) So anyways, initially I thought Bake was going to have repetitious events happening but it didn’t, which amazed me a bit. The fact that Hitagi (the girl) is so… yandere is also very amusing. Literally, I don’t support yandere but this girl is just funny. So in a way, that makes up for her sadistic ways. I mean, who the hell would ever call themselves “tsundere?” I can’t recall a lot of Anime I’ve watched which said that.
So for the beginning, notice the stuff that’s coming out of Hitagi. That was one thing which pulled my attention. Plus the thighhighs. I mean really, why the hell did they draw those white stuff coming out of her vagina skirt? Why not her whole body? Really, I didn’t understand anything that happened in this show and instead reverted to “mindless watching.” I give it a 6/10 for that reason. But you know what? I feel kind of hopeful for this series. It might just have a good plot because Hitagi is such a yandere and is pretty cute herself.
So another thing which I chuckled at was Hitagi hinting at how if he tries to fuck her he’ll regret it. I mean, that, to me, is hilarious. I don’t blame her though. The fact that she is saying that might mean that there has been several attempted rapes at her (or several successful rapes). She also said that there were others who tried to save her (she’s cursed/a vampire + is “weightless”) but failed to. Assuming that she would do anything to gain her goal, she’s likely to have banged a few guys. I hope she didn’t, though. Chances are that she did, though.
I’ll watch ~3 or so more episodes before giving my “final” judgment on if this is a good series or not. But come on — a series with a yandere girl has to be great (think about Black Lagoon!)

No, not a yandere.
She’s a tsundere. Aloof? Check. A bit of crankiness? Check. Combative personality? Check. Runs hot and cold? Definitely.
The anime isn’t cheap — it’s very expensive I’d say. The quality is amazing, and the plot is intruiging. But… I can’t yet see an acceptable romance — Hitagi is maybe a bit cute but that paranoia of hers destroys the whole effect. And since the protagonist isn’t a (clichéed) “innocent stranger” being dragged into adventures, I can’t really symphatise with him.
One more thing is the neurotic “cameraman” — I felt like “Somebody, kick his metaphoric ass so he stands still!”
Nonetheless, I like it, and still say what I’ve said in our Summer 2009 post — “vampires, girls, and vampire girls — it has a chance to be good”
P.S. Don’t take my love for vampires as the Twilight-Syndrome — I have only seen the movie and didn’t like it — it’s just that I like demons, witches, and all that dark stuff. Take a look on my self-drawn avatar.
Ah~ Beat me to the post. ^^
I never thought that Hitagi was going to end up being so paranoid. But I guess that part about her makes her so funny to watch.
This episode was so amazing to watch! Most of the time they were just talking, but it was very interesting and I never got bored. I’m definitely watching this~ 0w0

@Control: I consider it Yandere because Hitagi initially inflicted pain on Araragi. But you’re right.
@Gargron: Kind-of-sort-of-not-really. I never really think of how much an Anime costs based off of its quality (or anything, really). It doesn’t help me determine if its a good Anime or not at all — even if its for the future. And there might be romance and there might not. I have the feeling that this is more of a “comedy + violence” show.
@Llora-chan: There’s nothing saying you can’t post a new one at your blog or this, right? The fact that we can’t edit one another posts limits the “team blog” idea.
There. Now authors can edit each other’s posts. (Hopefully, if it works)
But we need to chat to do that team blogging you’re speaking about. At irc.rizon.net, the chatroom #anime2 — You can use e.g. http://mibbit.com to chat without installing anything.
